For Sale!

 For Sale - Western Flyer, a 1979 Wilderness 21

I am taking on a new boat so this one needs a new owner.  It is available for test rides until October 15, 2023 when I will pull it out for the winter.  $6500.  This boat is in solid sailing shape.  You can buy a sailboat for less but believe me, you’ll pay a lot more than this to get it up to speed.

This boat has been a lot of fun for me.  Sailing solo in the bay and on the ocean, day sailing and racing with a crew.

Updates include:

  • New top paint, anti-fouling paint.  Hull and keel faired.  Winter 2021.
  • Electric outboard (ePropulsion Spirit Evo 1.0) + battery (Winter 2021) and backup 48v house battery (summer 2023).  LiFePO4 batteries (safest form of lithium ion batteries for boats).
  • Refinished cabin top hardware (new clutches and organizers, new mast hinge plate with base blocks, reefing to cockpit).  Winter 2022.
  • Overhauled mast (base, exit blocks, boom, halyards, new external mainsail track).  Winter 2022.
  • New nav, stern and steaming LED lights.  Winter 2022.
  • Trailer refinished (sanded, new primer and paint, new lights, new tires, supporting pads replaced).  Trailer is not licensed (has never been titled or licensed).
  • New depth/speed transducer (Airmar DST810).  Winter 2021.
  • New wind sensor (Garmin GWind wired sensor).  Winter 2021.
  • Other electronics (chartplotter and autopilot) will be removed before sale.  They are not mine to sell.
